J = former roommate, sit-up/crunch master, adequate substitute for the Internet Movie Database or AllMusic.com, excellent smoothie maker, ridiculously amazing artist, and maybe the world's funniest human being. J is originally from Daphne, Alabama (just across the bay from Mobile) and now resides in Brooklyn. In the time we spent with J in Savannah, Georgia, he taught us more about music, film, and art than probably anyone else ever will. Luckily, J's move to New York has introduced him to quite a few more people. Recently you may have caught his feature in Tokion or the hilarious cover artwork he did for Love As Laughter's new album on Sub Pop. Hometapes has not seen the last of J Penry though.
